美国中餐联盟在美国国会召开新发布会，在发布会上有两位华裔国会议员 赵美心和孟昭文分别讲话，讲到华人在美国开餐馆的重要性. 美国中餐联盟第二届选举，朱天活被当选为第二届主席。晚上，在汉宫举办晚宴有三百多人参加 ，晚宴中有颁发奖及委任书等。中国大使馆参赞兼副总领事李民，一等秘书庄元元，侨务组长沈昂等参加了晚宴，更值得一提的是把以前《全美中餐联盟》 换名为《美国中餐联盟》。
