中国驻美大使馆于9月28日晚，举办招待会庆祝中华人民共和国成立64周年。侨界，学界，商界近千人出席。 崔天凯大使致词，他说回顾往年，对未来充满信心，改革开放，坚定不移。在新一届党中央领导下，坚持走和平发展道路，同世界各国互利共谋合作当中，实现国家强盛，人民富裕，从人类发展的事业上做出更大贡献。还提到两岸关系积极进展，中美关系保持着良好发展势头。
